What we cannot take
We buy thousands of valuable items, but there are a few we are unable to accept, including certain modern electrical, fragile or offensive items.
Before you pack your box
Please check the list below before packing your box. If you are unsure about anything, we are always happy to help, so just get in touch.
We cannot accept prohibited items, such as knives and blades, hazardous or flammable materials, ivory, firearms and explosives (asbestos and mercury as examples).
Glass, porcelain and china
We cannot take delicate items such as glass, porcelain, pottery, ceramics and china. They break too easily in the post.
Clothing
The only clothing we buy is military memorabilia, such as uniforms, caps, sashes and gloves. To sell other clothes, try an app made for the purpose, such as Vinted.
Books and comics
We do not buy modern books. We do buy antique leather-bound books, first editions and signed copies.
Furniture
We do not buy furniture. Local online groups such as Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree are a better place for it.
Firearms and guns
For legal and safety reasons, we cannot take firearms or other dangerous items.
Knives and blades
We cannot take knives, blades or other sharp weapons.
Hazardous or flammable materials
We cannot take hazardous or flammable materials of any kind, because they are dangerous in the post.
DVDs, CDs and video tapes
We do not buy old forms of entertainment. If you want to sell a whole collection at once, a service such as Music Magpie may suit you.
Modern toys
We buy toys and games, including dolls, teddy bears, figures, cars and marbles. We cannot take modern pieces.
Biros and plastic pens
We cannot take modern plastic pens or biros.
Boxes of coins alone
We are glad to find a bag of old coins or foreign money in a box with other items. We cannot take a box of coins only, so please send coins with other items.
Electrical goods
We cannot take modern electrical goods, such as televisions, blenders and hair straighteners. We do buy vintage electronics, such as telephones, games consoles and boom boxes.
Fur and taxidermy
We cannot take fur, faux fur or taxidermy in any form. That includes coats, collar trims, big cat skin rugs, tortoiseshell trinkets and taxidermy jewellery.
Vinyl records
We do not buy vinyl records.
Modern plastic buttons
We cannot take bags of modern plastic buttons in any shape or size.
Cultural objects
The export of cultural goods is controlled by law.
Contraband and offensive items
We destroy contraband and offensive items, unless a museum or school can use them for teaching.

- Confederate memorabilia

- Ivory and big cat skins, subject to exemptions
